Popular actress Meera Chopra, known among Tamil fans as Nila after starring in the 2005 SJ Suryah-starrer Anbe Aaruyire, met with an unexpected ordel after she was reportedly conned by an interior designer, while also accusing him of attacking and pushing her out of her own house. Taking to social media to bring to light the incident, Meera, who is a cousin to Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, cited the issue of women's safety after she filed an FIR against interior designer Rajinder Dewan, who was hired to work on her new house in Andheri, Mumbai. The Lee and Marudhamalai actress paid the amount despite not knowing Rajinder Dewan and asked him to not use substandard material for her new house. Meera, who had to go to Benaras for a shoot, was shocked upon her return that the designer had not used the material as per her instructions, after which an argument ensued between the two.
