Actress Meena lost her husband Vidya Sagar on June 28, and the news came as a shocker to one and all across South India. Vidya Sagar passed away due to a lung infection. Close to two months following his demise, Meena has now made an important announcement revealing that she will be donating her organs after her death. Meena shared the news through an official statement in which she emphasized the importance of organ donation. Meena also added that her husband Sagar's situation would've been different if he had had more donors to support him. This heartfelt gesture from Meena has been winning hearts and this will also create awareness among the people.

Making the important announcement, Meena said, "There is no greater good than saving lives. Organ donation is one of the noblest ways to save lives. It is a boon, a second chance for many who's battling with chronic illness which I personally went through. Wish my Sagar was blessed with more donors which could have changed my life! One donor can save 8 lives. Hope everyone understands the importance of organ donation. It's not just between the donors and recipients and doctors. It greatly affects families, friends, colleagues, and acquaintances. Today, I am taking a pledge to donate my organs. The best way to make your legacy to live on".

This emotional and thought provoking statement from Meena has gone viral among the fans, garnering attention on social media. Meena has a daughter named Nainika who acted with Thalapathy Vijay as his daughter in the Atlee directorial Theri. Meena's last release in Kollywood was Annaatthe, starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Keerthy Suresh, and Nayanthara in the lead roles, under the direction of Siva. A formal announcement on Meena's next film in K-town is yet to be known and further details are awaited.
