Meanwhile, an interesting tidbit about the film has surfaced on social media and it has indeed hyped up the fans. Manu Shaju, a spot editor, expressed his delight about getting to work with Mani Ratnam in Ponniyin Selvan. Narrating his experience of showing the edited version of a massive war sequence to Mani Ratnam, Manu Shaju sounded delightful. Manu Shaju shared his experience through a Instagram post that was written in Malayalam. A rough and short translation of the post reads, "The picture here (Insta post) is the edit timeline of a massive war sequence from Mani Ratnam sir's Ponniyin Selvan. After finishing the edit, I ran towards Mani sir and with a smile, I told him that the edited version is ready. He immediately took the laptop and placed it on his lap.

The action scene was filmed in seven cameras including that of a helicam and a GoPro. I have a habit of seeing the director's face while showing him the edited version and I was glued to Mani sir's face as he was watching it. The war sequence happened with around 1000 people including Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, and others. Mani sir watched the video and he remained silent for a while. He did not show anyone. Jayam Ravi who was sitting nearby asked him if he can watch it. Ravi saw and said something to Mani sir with high excitement.

Mani sir looked at me, smiled, and showed a thumbs up. That was the biggest award for me in my film career". Wow! Isn't it interesting to know how Mani Ratnam reacted after seeing one of the most important war sequences in the film?. It looks like the fans are in for a delightful treat. Get ready for an epic drama!
