Mani Ratnam's highly-anticipated historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan is currently in the post production stages and the fans have pinned high hopes on the movie. The music production and re-recording works are progressing at a brisk pace. Having said that, music composer A.R.Rahman took one and all by surprise by posting a glimpse of the music composing session of Ponniyin Selvan. In the video that Rahman posted on his Instagram page, we see Mani Ratnam explaining the musicians about the scene. Mani Ratnam talks about the intensity of the music that he needs for the scene and he is seen talking about a scene that features Ponniyin Selvan and this briefing video has set the fans in excitement.

Sharing the video on his official Instagram page, A.R.Rahman wrote, "PS PS PS briefing from the master #manirathnam #ponniyinselvan". A.R.Rahman's music is going to be one of the highlight aspects of Ponniyin Selvan and let us hope to get a glimpse of the songs very soon. Ponniyin Selvan features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles, while the supporting cast includes the likes of Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Jayaram, Rahman, Sarath Kumar, Aadukalam Kishore, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin Kakumanu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Mohan Raman, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, and others.

Chiyaan Vikram will be seen playing the character of Aditya Karikalan, while Jayam Ravi and Karthi will essay the roles of Ponniyin Selvan and Vandiyathevan respectively. Trisha will be seen playing the female lead, as Kundhavai, while Aishwarya Rai plays Nandhini, the antagonist. Produced by Lyca Productions in association with Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan is being made as a two part film and the shoot for both the movies have been completed. Ponniyin Selvan 1 will be hitting the screens during the summer of 2022 and it is expected to take a humongous opening at the box office.
