Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is getting ready for its pan Indian theatrical release on September 30 and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the d-day. The film is sure to take a mega grand opening at the box office considering the huge hype surrounding the movie. The film will be released in 5 languages - Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Earlier this evening (August 29), the makers took the fans by surprise by releasing a new short promo and this one is the promo of the recently released hit song, 'Chola Chola'. We see a glimpse of Chiyaan Vikram's energetic dance moves in this promo and it looks impressive.

The new visuals have been doing good rounds on social media and it looks like more such surprises are on the way for the fans. Two singles have been released so far - 'Ponni Nadhi' and 'Chola Chola' and both the numbers have managed to strike a chord with the audiences. The rest of the songs and trailer are expected to be released through a grand event which is said to take place on September 6. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions on a grand scale in association with Madras Talkies, the film has cinematography handled by Ravi Varman while the editing is taken care of by Sreekar Prasad.

The screenplay for the film version has been penned by Elango Kumaravel, Siva Ananth, and Mani Ratnam while the dialogues are written by Jeyamohan. The film features Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles, while the supporting cast includes the likes of Prakash Raj, Prabhu, R Parthiban, R Sarath Kumar, Lal, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Mohan Raman, Jaya Chitra, Rahman, Riyaz Khan, Arjun Chidambaram, Sarah Arjun, and others.

Vikram will be essaying the character of Aditya Karikalan while Jayam Ravi and Karthi would be playing Ponniyin Selvan and Vanthiya Thevan respectively.
