Malayalam actor Jagadish's wife Dr. P Rema passed away on Friday morning in Thiruvananthapuram. She was 61. Rema was the former Head of the Forensic Medicine Department in the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College and had taken voluntary retirement after she was diagnosed with a neurological ailment. Her funeral will be held later today at the Thycaud Shanthi Kavadam in the city and she is survived by her husband-actor Jagadish and their two daughters Ramya and Soumya. According to reports, Rema's health condition had been low and she was unwell before she passed away peacefully earlier in the day.

Dr P Rema, who rarely made any public appearances, had taken part in the investigation of a number of criminal cases in Kerala. Speaking to an online media portal in an earlier interview, Jagadish talked about Rema's stance of staying away from the limelight and maintaining privacy. Both of Rema's daughters are in the medical profession as Remya Jagadish is a professor at the Nagercoil Medical College, while Soumya Jagadish is working as a psychiatrist.
Jagadish garnered immense fame for his performances in Malayalam films over the course of his glorious career. Known for his penchant for comedy, the popular star was seen in more than 300 films and made heads turn with his roles in Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu, In Harihar Nagar, Mutharamkunnu P.O, Godfather, and several other notable ventures. His most recent films include the Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran-starrer Bro Daddy and Pada, which featured names like Kunchacko Boban, Joju George, Vinayakan, and Dileesh Pothan.
