Popular Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan’s Laksyah boutique on the third floor of the Grand Mall in Kochi caught fire in the wee hours of Wednesday. The Elamakkara police launched an investigation and have reportedly stated that an embroidery machine that was left in a switched-on state a day earlier might be the cause of the incident. Fire and Rescue Service officials, who doused the flames in the Laksyah boutique located near Edapally, have said that clothes and a few sewing machines were damaged in the accident. Reports state that the Grand Mall security officials noticed smoke coming from inside the boutique during their routine inspection at around 4 a.m. after which they informed the nearby Thrikakkara Fire Station.

Kavya Madhavan is Malayalam actor Dileep's wife. The actor is one among the accused in the 2017 Kerala actress abduction and assault case and is currently in the headlines for allegedly tampering with the content on his mobile phones with help from experts in Mumbai.
