Leading Tamil actress Malavika Mohanan continues to charm audiences and she will next be seen in Malayalam in the much-awaited Christy releasing in cinemas worldwide on February 17 in Valentine's Day week. The teaser for the upcoming coming-of-age film was unveiled on Saturday, January 28, and gives a glimpse of Malavika making an appearance alongside the lead star Mathew Thomas, who is best known for his roles in Kumbalangi Nights, Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, and Operation Java to name a notable few.
On the occasion of the Christy teaser release, Malavika took part in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Twitter and answered several queries from fans. Among the big questions that came her way, the actress was asked about her last big theatrical release, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master, which was released as a grand Pongal treat in 2021. The mass action entertainer also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and featured chart-topping songs and a thunderous background score by Anirudh Ravichander.
During the AMA session, Malavika was asked about the fate of the relationship between her character Charulatha and John Durairaj (JD) played by Vijay in Master. Toward the end of the film, we see JD killing Bhavani played by Vijay Sethupathi, and eventually being sent to jail to serve his sentence. Revealing how JD and Charu would have ended up in Master, Malavika said they would have gotten married, and led a happy life. She tweeted, "Of course he did. Malavika Mohanan plays a pivotal role in taking the story forward in Master signing up Vijay for duty at a juvenile detention facility for a 3-month assignment unbeknownst to him after the college elections he oversees goes awry. The chemistry between Vijay's JD and Malavika's Charu was one of the big highlights of the film, which went on to become the biggest hit of 2021 and continues to be referenced even today. Malavika will be seen next in Tamil in the highly-anticipated Thangalaan starring 'Chiyaan' Vikram and Parvathy Thiruvothu under Pa. Ranjith's direction. She is also set for her big Bollywood debut, Yudhra, opposite Sidhant Chaturvedi in the titular role.
