All the signs are seeming to point that the year 2021 is going to be STR's. The actor has apparently signed a hand of films with promising filmmakers during the lockdown. He has undergone a weight loss transformation, videos of STR exercising were recently released. The charming STR will soon be back with a bang, after a hiatus. He has signed on to work for director Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu and the shooting for this political film kick-started just before the lockdown in the outskirts of Chennai. STR will be seen playing a Muslim character, as Abdul Khaleeq in this film and it is expected to give the much needed breakthrough for him. Apart from Maanaadu, Simbu also has Maha, in which he will be seen in an extended cameo. Maha is Hansika Motwani’s 50th film and it is directed by UR Jameel, a former associate of director Lakshman. STR’s stylish makeover for Maha created huge expectations among the fans and it elevated the overall buzz of the film to a different level. The film’s producer, Mathiyalagan of Etcetra Entertainment has never failed to share updates about the film for the fans. Today, being Hansika’s birthday, the makers of Maha have released a brand new poster from the film.

Maha, directed by UR Jameel, is produced by V Mathialagan for his Etcetera Entertainment banner. This movie marks the 50th feature film in Hansika's career and is a landmark movie for her. The first look for this movie was unveiled on December 9th, 2018 and had Hansika sporting a Sanyasi's robes, sitting on a chair and smoking a chillum. Though this poster was cool, it came in for a lot of flak with various people voicing their opinions against it, citing that this poster might promote smoking amongst the youngsters. STR will only be seen in an extended cameo in Maha, reportedly in a London segment of the movie. The cast of this movie includes Srikanth, Sanam Shetty, Thambi Ramaiah, Karunakaran, Mahat Raghavendra and a number of others. Ghibran is scoring the music for this movie, which has cinematography by R Madhi and editing by JR John Abraham. Most of the portions of Maha have been shot and some very little sequences are yet to be canned.
