Madhavan, fondly called as Maddy by his fans has been a heartthrob of young girls right from his first movie Alaipayuthey. The fascination continues even today with his upcoming film Irudhi Suttru, in which he plays a retired boxer and the posters have received a rousing response from the audiences. He has broken the chocolate boy - romantic hero image and worked hard to transform his physique which is a sweet surprise to all.

It is now a proud moment for Maddy as a father as his son Vedant has won PETA's Compassionate Kid Award. Madhavan has been very supportive of PETA and it's initiatives for a long time now. He once voiced support to free a captive elephant - Sunder. He also narrated about what happens to animals in slaughter houses.

Vedant is following in his footsteps and shares PETA literature and materials to his friends. He even asks friends and family to donate to PETA as his birthday gift. It is a good gesture and that is why they say, Like Father Like Son.
