R. Madhavan is one of the few rare actors who has managed to achieve a pan-Indian appeal before the term pan-Indian even became a thing. He is known for his amazing acting prowess and has always been a big inspiration for the youngsters. Now, his son Vedaant is also following in his father's footsteps. Not in the world of film and entertainment but the world of sports instead.

Actor Madhavan is a proud father of Vedaant Madhavan, who is fast emerging as a strong swimmer and who has done the country proud by winning a silver medal at The Danish Open in Copenhagen. The actor took to his Twitter handle to announce this news and to congratulate the two new representatives of India at the international swimming "stage". Sharing some pictures, he also attached a caption with it that read, "With all your blessings & Gods grace @swim_sajan and @VedaantMadhavan won gold and silver respectively for India, at The Danish open in Copenhagen. Thank you sooo much Coach Pradeep sir, SFI and ANSA. We are so Proud," followed by three emojis of the Indian flag.

This is not Vedaant's first time winning medals in swimming. Last year, the 16-year-old swimmer won four silver medals and three bronze medals at the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championships held in Bangalore. Prior to that, Vedaant won a bronze medal at the Latvian Open Swimming Champion event which took place in March 2021.
