While R. Madhavan has made a name for himself in the Indian film industry, his son Vedaant Madhavan is making India proud in his own way - through the field of sports. For those who have been living under a rock, Vedaant is a professional swimmer who came in first place and won a gold medal in swimming at the Danish Open 2022 in Copenhagen.

Madhavan too never misses a chance to shower his son Vedaant with praises and love, the proof of which can be found his Instagram handle. For instance, earlier this year, Madhavan had taken to his social media handle and shared a video of his son at the Danish Open competition in Copenhagen. In the video, Vedaant was seen receiving the silver medal. Sharing the video clip from the award ceremony, the doting daddy had thanked his son's guru and had revealed his proud feeling. This goes on to show what a proud father Madhavan is.

Vedaant Madhavan created history and rewrote the national record in 1500 meters freestyle event at a swimming competition. On 17 July 2022, Vedaant broke the previous holder’s record of 16 minutes at the National Junior Record for the 1500 m freestyle at the Junior National Aquatics and established a new meet milestone. We can hear the commentator in the background saying Vedaant has broken Advait's record at around 16 minutes and that he had picked up his pace beautifully which was not expected of him.

Madhavan took to his official Twitter handle today (July 18) and shared the video featuring his son perform such an amazing feat. He also attached a caption along with it that read, "Never say never . 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🤗🤗 National Junior Record for 1500m freestyle broken. ❤️❤️🙏🙏". Check it out:

R Madhavan often records Vedaant's victories and expresses his pride. In a recent interview, Madhavan joked about people walking up to him to talk about his son instead of his films not his films. On the work front, R Madhavan was last seen in his own directorial debut Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. He not only directed the film but also went on to write, produce and act in his own film as well, which ended up getting mixed reviews in the box office.
