Young filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan made heads turn with his directorial debut, Comali, starring Jayam Ravi, Kajal Aggarwal, and Samyuktha Hegde, in 2019, and is now coming out with his second film, Love Today, produced under the AGS Entertainment banner. The rom-com sees the filmmaker make his acting debut and is cast opposite Ivana of Naachiyar and Hero fame, and also has Sathyaraj, Radhika Sarathkumar, Yogi Babu, Raveena, 'Finally' Bharath, Adithya Kathir, Aajeedh Khalique, Vijay Varadaraj, Akshaya Udayakumar, among others in pivotal roles. With Love Today out in theatres today, November 4, the makers have released a hilarious sneak peek featuring Pradeep, Ivana, and Adithya Kathir.
The buzz for Love Today has been high and Pradeep Ranganathan has been promoting the film extensively over the past few days. Billed to be a love story for modern times, the film's trailer released sometime back showed him and Ivana deciding to get married, with Sathyaraj as the heroine's father putting them to a test by having them exchange each other’s phones for a day. The premise itself teases the comedy of errors that ensues between Pradeep and Ivana and the Love Today sneak peek too gives audiences a glimpse into what happens in their relationship.
Love Today became hot in the trade after Udhayanidhi Stalin acquired the film's Tamil Nadu theatrical rights under his Red Giant Movies banner. The film also features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the songs, especially the 'Pacha Elai' track has received a huge response from the youth, and has turned out to be yet another feather in the cap for the celebrated composer. The title for Love Today has been taken from 'Thalapathy' Vijay's 1997 blockbuster of the same name, with Pradeep Ranganthan extending his gratitude to the superstar sometime back.
