One film that is currently the talk of the town is the upcoming Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which is gearing up for a grand worldwide theatrical release on June 3. Produced by Kamal Haasan and Mahendran under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner, the action thriller also stars 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles, with Suriya also making a cameo appearance and features music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. With promotions already underway for Vikram's release, director Lokesh Kanagaraj sat down for a detailed discussion with National Award-winning film critic Baradwaj Rangan, the Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus, to talk about the film and his experience working alongside larger-than-life stars.

Post the release of the Vikram trailer, fans have been debating and speculating about the 'Ghost' reference that had been mentioned, with many citing a connection between the Kamal Haasan film and Karthi's 2019 blockbuster Kaithi, which too was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Upon being queried on the secret behind the said 'Ghost' in Vikram and whether he is planning his own Universe akin to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the hit filmmaker said, "I can talk about it now, but I don’t wish to spoil the surprise factor for fans who will be watching the film soon. Once the film is out, we'll probably have another session where we can discuss it in detail. As of now, I'll give you an example - director Thiagarajan Kumararaja used the autos (Bigil and Son of Gun) as referenced in his Aaranya Kaandam that were earlier featured in Oram Po. These Easter eggs give us a small amount of joy and happiness and it is the same category of inspiration for Vikram too. This kind of approach is common in English films and we're now in the process of adapting the same aspect in our films too."
