Leading South Indian actress Nayanthara's birthday just got bigger as filmmaker and producer Vignesh Shivan surprised fans by announcing her next film tentatively titled NT 81, which will be directed by Durai Senthil Kumar, who is best known for Ethir Neechal (2013) and Kaaki Sattai (2015) with Sivakarthikeyan, and the Dhanush-starrers Kodi (2016) and Pattas (2020). The announcement of NT 81 has come as a big surprise to Nayanthara's fans and will be produced by Vignesh Shivan under the Rowdy Pictures banner. Furthermore, a special poster has also been released showing a woman's hand (presumably Nayanthara) resting on an elephant's trunk thereby suggesting the film will be set amidst a jungle and wildlife backdrop. Below is the Nayanthara 81 announcement:

Speaking about Nayanthara 81 or NT 81, producer Vignesh Shivan said, "Rowdy Pictures is elated to announce its new project with 'Lady Superstar' Nayanthara playing the lead role. We are happy to be associated with a versatile filmmaker like Durai Senthilkumar, who has delivered movies that have unique stories, and brilliant storytelling and have been well-received by critics and proven commercial successes as well. The way he projects women characters with powerful shades in his movies is extraordinary. Personally, I have been a great fan of athlete Shanthi in his Ethir Neechal. When he narrated the script for Nayanthara 81, it was literally amazing and had elements that will savor the tastes of audiences from all walks of life. We are happy to announce this project and are looking forward to a positive and feel-good experience with everyone on the team. The official announcement about others in the cast and crew will be announced soon." Check out the statement on Nayanthara 81 below:

NT 81 is Nayanthara's next big film as she will be seen up ahead in Tamil in Iraivan opposite Jayam Ravi, followed by the tentatively titled Lady Superstar 75 and the eagerly-awaited horror thriller Connect, which has been announced to come out in cinemas on December 22. The reigning queen of South Indian cinema also has several big projects in other languages namely director Alphonse Puthren's Gold and Paattu in Malayalam, including her highly-anticipated Bollywood debut in Jawan opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
