Superstar Rajinikanth is more than just an actor for his fans. They revere him as a demi-god and wait with bated breath for updates about him and his projects. The current hot sensation in tinsel town is Superstar's upcoming movie Darbar and just a few minutes back, the lyric video of the much-expected 'Chumma Kizhi' song from this movie was released and it is already going viral. All this on one side, there's a lot happening for Rajinikanth's next project too. This movie, tentatively titled Thalaivar 168, is to be directed by Siva of Veeram and Viswasam fame and will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures. We now have a massive update regarding this movie's heroine!
Right from the time this project was announced, there have been speculations that Thalaivar 168 would be a rural, family entertainer with a little something for all types of audiences. It was then announced that music director D Imman had been roped in to score the tunes for this upcoming project. A lot of rumours have been raging about who would be pairing up with Rajini in this movie and there was heavy speculation that Keerthy Suresh and Jyothika were most likely to be signed on. However, we have information from some very reliable sources that evergreen diva Khushbu is the front-runner to play Superstar's heroine in Thalaivar 168 and that talks are in the final stage for this! An official announcement is expected soon!
Khushbu and Rajinikanth have earlier worked together in five movies, with the first being Dharmathin Thalaivan. In this movie, Khushbu played Prabhu's pair while Suhasini Maniratnam was seen as Rajini's pair. Since then, they have been paired together in blockbusters like Mannan, Annamalai and Pandian. Incidentally, Pandian - which released in 1992, was also the last time that our Superstar was seen donning the Khaki uniform. Thalaivar 168 is expected to go on floors from the middle of December. Meanwhile, Superstar's Darbar is hogging all the limelight with the movie all set to hit the screens on January 9th, 2020, in time for Pongal.
