American singer Kelly Clarkson has settled her divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock nearly 2 years after they announced their split. Having shot to fame after winning the first season of the singing talent show American Idol in 2002, she filed for divorce in June 2020, with their marriage coming to an end seven years after they tied the knot. Clarkson became legally single once again in September 2021 and the two had finalized their divorce settlement after a long legal battle on March 8. 

As per the terms signed by L.A. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon, Clarkson will gain primary custody of their two children - River, aged 7, and Remington who is 5. As for Blackstock, who is a talent manager, he has been permitted to have his children over at his place once every month during any weekend. Clarkson, who has been hosting her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, since 2019, will have to pay Blackstock every month USD 115,000 as spousal support till January 2024. Furthermore, she is required to pay him an additional USD 45,600 every month for child support.

Speaking about the former couple's single status, Us Weekly quoted a source's statement and said, "Kelly has entered the dating world. She’s being set up with friends and is open to dating again." They also informed that the star has been held up with her busy schedule as she is taking care of her children, while also serving as a judge on the NBC talk show The Voice, including co-hosting American Song Contest with Snoop Dogg.
