National Award-winning Tamil actress Keerthy Suresh has announced her next big film titled Raghu Thatha, which will be produced by Karnataka-based producer Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films banner, best known for the KGF franchise and the recently-released Kannada blockbuster, Kantara. The upcoming film will mark the blockbuster Kannada production house's debut in Tamil cinema and will be directed by newcomer Suman Kumar, who was one of the writers of the smash hit Prime Video series The Family Man. Keerthy Suresh shared the Raghu Thatha title announcement poster on Sunday, December 4, which features a sketch of her character in the film protesting against what appears to be Hindi imposition. The backdrop shows the name of a town, Valluvarpettai, in Tamil and English languages, while the Hindi version of it is smeared with what looks like black paint.

From the Raghu Thatha title announcement poster, one can assume Keerthy Suresh's character is voicing out to protect the identity of her people in her land and the film looks to be loaded with humor. The actress also shared pictures of herself and the team of the new film, with the entire lot smiling from ear to ear. Raghu Thatha, which kicked off filming yesterday, will also see veteran actor MS Bhaskar in a pivotal role, while the crew includes music by Sean Roldan, followed by Yamini Yagnamurthy for the cinematography, T. S. Suresh for the editing, and Ramcharantej Labani for the art direction, while Poornima Ramaswamy and Shruthi Manjari (Keerthy Suresh) are the costume designers. Seen last in Saani Kaayidham earlier this year, the film premiered directly on Amazon Prime Video and garnered Keerthy Suresh acclaim from fans and critics alike. The actress will be looking to deliver yet another memorable performance and this time in the comedy space on the big screen in Raghu Thatha after her last major Tamil theatrical release was 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Annaatthe in 2021. Keerthy Suresh also has in her lineup Tamil films like the highly-anticipated Maamannan starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil under Mari Selvaraj's direction featuring music by A. R. Rahman, and the recently-launched Jayam Ravi-starrer Siren being directed by writer Antony Bhagyaraj.
