Bollywood actresses Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora have tested positive for Covid-19. The news was shared to news agency ANI by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). ANI has tweeted, "Actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Amrita Arora tested positive for Covid-19. Both of them had violated Covid norms and attended several parties. BMC has ordered people, who came in contact with the two actors, to undergo RT-PCR tests." Vinayak Vispute, assistant commissioner of the H/West (Bandra West) ward has stated that Kareena has isolated herself and is currently in home quarantine. As for Amrita, it is yet to be confirmed whether she is also in home quarantine.

Earlier, Kareena and Amrita had attended an early Christmas party at Rhea Kapoor's home last week, which also included siblings and celebrity friends among whom were Malaika Arora, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena's manager Poonam Damania. The duo had also attended Karan Johar's party at his residence on Wednesday, which also saw Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt join in for the blockbuster filmmaker's K3G themed bash after the film completed 20 years of its release earlier this month. At the premises of Karan's home, Kareena hid her face in her hoodie teasing the paparazzi as they made attempts to click pictures of her. The party also saw The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives stars Seema Khan and Maheep Kapoor joining in for the bash.

On the work front, Kareena will be seen next in Laal Singh Chaddha opposite Aamir Khan, with the film announced for a worldwide theatrical release on April 14, 2022. The film has been directed by Advait Chandan based on a screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni and is an adaptation of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump, which fetched American actor Tom Hanks an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
