Leading Kannada actor Rishab Shetty’s Kantara is the talk of the town as it has grossed over Rs. 150 crores at the worldwide box office and continues to be showered with praises by one and all in the film fraternity across the country. However, the makers, Hombale Films, have now been accused of plagiarism by popular Kerala-based musical group Thaikkudam Bridge, who have alleged that the song 'Varaha Roopam' in the film, is a copy of 'Navarasam' that they had composed. Taking to social media, the band on Monday, October 24, made plagiarism allegations against the makers of Kantara and released a detailed statement explaining their statement.

Sharing posters of 'Navarasam' and 'Varaha Roopam', Thaikkudam Bridge wrote on Instagram, "We would like our listeners to know that Thaikkudam Bridge is in no way or form affiliated with Kantara. The unavoidable similarities between our IP ‘Navarasam’ and ‘Varaha Roopam’ in terms of audio is therefore a blatant infringement of copyright laws. From our standpoint the line between ‘inspired’ and ‘plagiarised’ is distinct and indisputable and therefore, we will be seeking legal action against the creative team responsible for this. There has been no acknowledgement of our rights over the content and the song is propagated as an Original piece of work by the movie's creative team." Check out Thaikkudam Bridge's Insta post below:
