In sad news, popular Kannada RJ Rachana, who is best known for her shows on Radio City, passed away on Tuesday (February 22) in  Bengaluru. She was 39. Rachana's cause of death has been revealed due to a cardiac arrest, which she suffered in her apartment at JP Nagar in the city. Lovingly called by fans as 'Pori Tapori Rachana', the renowned Radio Jockey had garnered a huge following among the young and the elderly alike for her lively shows and possessed an incredible gift of the gab and also displayed a unique sense of humor, while also being lauded for her ability to keep her listeners engaged in her conversations. According to reports, Rachana had complained of chest pain while she was in her apartment on Tuesday afternoon and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she breathed her last. 

The news of Rachana's demise has come as a major shock to her fans, contemporaries in the entertainment industry and personalities from various walks of life, who have been paying their tributes on social media. Her passing has left many in a state of sorrow as she reportedly was doing well before her death. Multiple reports further state that the popular RJ was a fitness enthusiast and maintained a healthy lifestyle. Rachana had quit her role at Radio City three years ago after being a radio jockey for nearly a decade and also made an appearance in the Kannada film Simpleagi Ondu Love Story. 

Condolences have been pouring in for Rachana from several notable names, including fellow Bengaluru RJ Pradeep, who posted a photo with her on Instagram, and wrote, "May your soul rest in peace Rachana. She was definitely one of the best jock of Namma Bengaluru. Heart attack at this young age… What is happening." Former Kannada RJ and actress Sujatha Akshaya too shared pictures of Rachana, saying, 'Not able to believe. Om Shanti. Will always remember our friendship Rachu." Kannada TV actor and host Niranjan Deshpande expressed his shock and wrote, "Seriously its a shocking news. Still not able to believe. RIP Rachana."
