In an unexpected and shocking turn of events, leading Kannada Superstar Puneeth Rajkumar has passed away today (October 29) and his demise has taken one and all by a deep shock. Earlier this morning, Puneeth is said to have suffered a heart attack after which he was rushed to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. Puneeth is one of the leading actors in Kannada cinema and his death has indeed come as a big shocker. His death was confirmed a few minutes ago. October 29 will indeed be a dark day for Indian cinema and details regarding the cremation and final rites are awaited. Puneeth was 46 years old when he breathed his last. 

Karnataka Government has also ordered the theatres to shut down in the state. Leading film personalities from the Indian film industry are expected to attend the funeral event. 

Only this morning (at 7.33 AM), Puneeth had posted a tweet on his Twitter page, wishing a grand success for the release of his brother, Shiva Rajkumar's film, Bhajarangi 2. Puneeth is survived by his elder brother Shiva Rajkumar, wife Ashwini Revanth, two daughters, and others. Puneeth is the song of legendary Kannada actor Dr Rajkumar who was considered as one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema. Puneeth is known to be one of the most commercially successful actors in Kannada cinema who owned a phenomenal fan base across the globe. Puneeth Rajkumar made his debut as a lead actor with Appu, directed by Puri Jagannadh.

The film which released in 2002 was a sensational blockbuster hit. Puneeth's other notable films in Kannada cinema include Arasu, Milana, Vamshi, Jackie, Hudugaru, Paramathma, Anna Bond, Power, Rana Vikrama, Doddmane Hudge, Raajakumara, etc. Puneeth's last release was Yuvarathnaa which released earlier this year, in April 2021.
