Kamal Haasan's Vikram has taken a sensational opening in theatres worldwide and is yet another feather in the cap for the iconic superstar. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the action thriller also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil has come out on over 2000 screens overseas, while also securing the biggest release for a Kamal Haasan film in the USA, with the film now out in 891 theatres in the states. With Vikram now taking a stellar start at the box office, the USA Day 1 (Friday) reported gross as of 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) from 420 locations stands at $393,000. Furthermore, it is being reported that the film will hit the $400,000 mark on day 1 in the US, while the premieres are set to record close to $1 million.

Kamal Haasan, who is a stalwart in Indian cinema, has made a thunderous comeback with Vikram and stands tall in the cast alongside Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, followed by Fahadh Faasil in a major role, including Suriya making a power-packed cameo. Lokesh Kanagaraj is being showered with praises for his tightly-packaged screenplay that has several interesting twists and turns and for also managing to make the story connect with Vikram released in 1986, including setting the base for a link with the filmmaker's Kaithi starring Karthi.

Vikram produced by Kamal Haasan and R. Mahendran under the Raaj Kamal Films International banner also features chart-buster music by Anirudh Ravichander, who has once again come out on top with flying colors. The hit composer piqued the interest of fans with the songs in the film and is now enjoying the glory of his thunderous background score in cinemas. With Vikram now taking a strong start at the box office, it is already being estimated that the film will enter the 100-crore club with ease and is also set to become one of the biggest box office hits in Kamal Haasan's career and in Tamil cinema history as well.
