We're one week away from the grand theatrical release of 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Set to open in cinemas worldwide on June 3, promotions are currently being carried out extensively for the upcoming action thriller also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil in pivotal roles with music by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander. Produced by Kamal Haasan and Mahendran under the Raaj Kamal Film International banner, the team on Friday dropped a major surprise in the form of a new Vikram promo featuring the Panchathanthiram gang - Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, Sriman, and Yugi Sethu - reprising their roles for the special short glimpse.

In the new Vikram promo, we see a shocked Yugi Sethu calling Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, and Sriman to inform them that newspapers are carrying a photo of Ramachandramurthy aka. Ram C.M. (Kamal Haasan's character name in Panchathanthiram) along with the message that he is "wanted" and that there is a "lifetime settlement" bounty on his head. The news leaves the entire gang both surprised and shocked, who then decide to call Ram himself. As Ramesh Aravind reminds them that his phone number has not been reachable for a long period of time, Yugi Sethu is then seen opening the newspaper to stumble upon the revelation that it is not about Ram, but "Vik Ram". The Panchathanthiram men decide to give Ram a call one more time and much to their surprise his call tone is heard. The Vikram promo ends with a few visuals from the film's trailer, including a glimpse of Kamal Haasan's back facing the viewers.

This latest Vikram promo will no doubt strike a chord with fans everywhere as it has been two decades since Panchathanthiram directed by K. S. Ravikumar and also starring Simran, Ramya Krishnan, Devayani among others had released and became a box office blockbuster, while also garnering a cult status over the years. All sights will now be set on Vikram coming out next week as the pre-release buzz for the film is nothing short of tremendous.
