'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has turned out to be a rousing box office success as the action thriller continues to rake in the moolah two weeks after its theatrical release and is still going strong in cinemas everywhere. The film also starring 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, Malayalam superstar Fahadh Faasil, including Suriya making a power-packed cameo with music by Anirudh Ravichander adding to its strengths had its success meet on Friday in Chennai, which saw many of the people associated with the venture participate in the celebrations.

Speaking at the Vikram success meet, Kamal Haasan extended his gratitude to the artists and crew members, including all those who worked hard for its success from start to end. The veteran actor-filmmaker shared special words of praise for actor-producer/MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin, who distributed the film under his Red Giant Movies banner. He said, "I have to thank Udhayanidhi separately outside of this event and his father (Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin). That would be fitting of my appreciation for him. I had heard that he was advised to move away from film distribution at one point. I request him not to do that because he is doing a wonderful job. I told him that if this honesty is there, many will survive. Today, at this stage, nobody will say that there is a share of Rs. 75 crore. I'm speaking some truth here. I'm bound by duty to talk about this. Please keep continuing to do this. We can create a health industry and I too will be a part of it."

Kamal Haasan also pointed out Lokesh Kanagaraj's next film saying, "I'm not looking at it as a film to compete against. When he wins in that film and comes back here, it makes you think how the next Vikram will be. So, if I fail to wish the best for that film, it only means that I'm spitting on myself. That is why I wish you the best for that as well. If at all you have any fear or doubts, you can come to me for that film as well because that too is my film. If we begin to think as such, this industry cannot be touched."

Both Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj are attached to their respective projects, with the former set to make films with Malayalam director Mahesh Narayanan of Malik fame and a venture with Pa. Ranjith, including Indian 2 with Shankar, while the latter will be teaming up with Vijay for the tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, which is expected to be announced soon. Thalapathy 67 will be the second collaboration for Lokesh Kanagaraj with Vijay after their Master in 2021 and fans expect the film to be as intense as can be. Likewise, Lokesh Kanagaraj is also committed to making Kaithi 2 with Karthi, while also teasing Vikram 3 in Vikram.
