'Ulaga Nayagan' Kamal Haasan entered politics after he began his political party in 2018. Since then, the actor has contested multiple elections. Ahead of the 70th birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, The actor inaugurated a special photo exhibit named ‘Engal Mudhalvar, Engal Perumai’ (our leader, our pride) set up in Raja Annamalai Mandram in Chennai. The exhibit, that shows the growth of the leader over the years, will remain open to the public for 12 days from tomorrow. After opening the exhibit, the talented actor toured the venue and addressed the press.

Addressing media, Kamal Haasan said he was requested to open the photo exhibit and he was attending the event amidst busy schedule, shooting the upcoming film Indian 2. He said "the shooting of the film is happening day and night". He reasoned that he's inaugurated the exhibit amidst busy schedule because he knew MK Stalin from the time when he was known as Kalaignar’s son. He explained that his and Stalin’s friendship is “beyond politics”. He then spoke about the step-by-step growth of Stalin despite being the son of former CM M Karunanidhi. Kamal Haasan then thanked other dignitaries on the stage including minister Sekar Babu and Dayanidhi Maran and ended the address wishing advanced birthday wishes to CM Stalin.
