Megastar Chiranjeevi's Acharya is slated for release this Friday and the fans are eagerly looking forward to watching the film on the big screens. Set to release on April 29, the film will have a grand release on a record number of screens and this will be Chiranjeevi's first release in the last 2.5 years. The film is directed by blockbuster filmmaker Koratala Siva, also starring Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde in extended cameos.

Produced by Konidela Production Company in association with Matinee Entertainment, the film features Sonu Sood as the key antagonist, while Jisshu Sengupta, Vennela Kishore, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali, Tanikella Bharani, Ajay, Sangeetha Krish, Nassar, Satya, would be seen in pivotal roles. Regina Cassandra would be seen shaking her leg for a special dance number in the film. Kajal Aggarwal was officially announced as the female lead of Acharya and she even shot for a few days.

However, it has now been officially revealed that Kajal's portions in Acharya have been edited out since they don't have vital importance in the screenplay. Director Koratala Siva, in a recent interview, confirmed that her portions have been edited out and also added that Kajal Aggarwal understood his concern and maturely accepted his decision. Talking about it, he said, "Initially, Kajal's role was sketched as a funny role and I filmed her portions for 3 - 4 days. However, when I viewed the rushes, her role did not seem to match the flow of the film. I thought it wasn't right to place a star actress in such a small role. So I decided to trim her character and told Kajal of my decision. She understood my concern and took it in a positive way".

This comes as a big blow for Kajal Aggarwal's fans who have expressed their disappointment on social media. Kajal Aggarwal, who was last seen in Dulquer Salmaan's Hey Sinamika, recently became a mother to a baby boy.
