Laal Singh Chaddha is an upcoming Hindi film directed by Advait Chandan from a screenplay adapted by Atul Kulkarni. It is a remake of the 1994 American film Forrest Gump which itself is based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name. The film is produced by Aamir Khan under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Paramount Pictures. Despite from just producing the film, it also Aamir as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. Naga Chaitanya will be making his big Bollywood debut with Laal Singh Chaddha.
The makers of the film have recently unveiled the latest music video of Sonu Nigam's version of the song titled 'Kahani' through T-Series' platform. The track can be best described as the soul of Laal Singh Chaddha as it feels warm, innocent, soothing, loving, and magical. The video song features the journey of Laal Singh Chaddha through the film and also touches on the beautiful relationship that is shared between Aamir Khan's and Kareena Kapoor Khan's character in the film as well as other the relationships that the other characters share with Laal Singh Chaddha.
The adaptation of Forrest Gump, underwent a series of changes over a period of two decades, with Atul Kulkarni spending the first ten years adapting the script, and another ten years purchasing the remake rights. Aamir Khan bought the rights to the film in early 2018 and announced the film officially on 14 March 2019, with its title. Laal Singh Chaddha has been filmed in more than 100 Indian locations. The film is scheduled for release on 11 August 2022.
