Jyothika produced Soorarai Pottru with Suriya under their 2D Entertainment banner in association with Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment and was released directly on Amazon Prime Video. The film skipped a theatrical release owing to the Covid pandemic and the lockdown, but went on to be well-received universally by audiences and critics alike. Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru, which was inspired by events from the life of Simplifly Deccan founder G. R. Gopinath, featured Suriya as Nedumaaran Rajangam aka. Maara, who hails from a remote village and then launches his own airliner, while overcoming many obstacles in his path to achieve his dream. Soorarai Pottru also starred Aparna Balamurali, Urvashi, Karunas, Mohan Babu, Poo Ramu, Kaali Venkat, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, Paresh Rawal among others, and features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
