The first release of Jayam Ravi for the year after the blockbuster hit film Ponniyin Selvan - Part 1 in 2022 is set for release next weekend. The talented and famous actor is known for various experimental films with different unique plots and technical attempts. In his upcoming film Agilan, the actor is set to play the role of a harbour worker. The film directed by Kalyana Krishnana and bankrolled by Screen Scene Media Entertainment. The first single Dhrogam from the movie with music composed by Sam CS was released recently. Ahead of it's mass release, the film has been censored by the Central Board of Film certification.

The production house, Screen Scene Media Entertainment, backing Agilan revealed the authorities have certified the film with a U/A certificate through a poster. The movie features Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead and the talented actress takes up the role of a cop. The film also features Tanya Ravichandran, Chirag Jani, Hareesh Peradi, Harish Uthaman, Tarun Arora, Madhusudhan Rao and others in supporting roles. It marks the second collaboration of Jayam Ravi with the director Kalyana Krishnan after the 2015 boxing action drama film Bhooloham. There is huge excitement surrounding the film as its touted to be a high-octane action thriller extensively shot in the Indian Ocean as the title of the film also has the caption “The King of the Indian Ocean”. The lead actor can be seen in a rugged new look in the film.
The busy actor has various exciting projects in the line-up this year. Jayam Ravi played the role of Arulmozhivarmar or Raja Raja Chozhan in the film Ponniyin Selvan II and his other films Siren and Iraivan are in various stages of production. The makers of Agilan revealed the trailer of the film will be launched this Sunday as fans are excitedly looking forward to the release of the film in theatres.
