The coronavirus pandemic is something that is long forgotten for some though it still is a very serious threat to all of humanity. It had the planet on the brink of extinction for nearly two years before vaccines were introduced. But that does not mean everyone is immune and everybody can go back to their own ways of life. With that being said, COVID-19 has yet again found its latest victim - Jayam Ravi

The actor who plays the titular role of Arunmozhi Varman in director Mani Ratnam's magnum opus blockbuster hit 'Ponniyin Selvan 1', has announced that he has tested positive for Covid-19. He took to his official Twitter handle to announce this in order to prevent and warn those who may have come in contact with him recently. He wrote, "Earlier this evening I tested positive for Covid-19. Following all protocols, I have immediately isolated myself. I sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested if necessary. Mask up. Stay safe! God bless. " Check it out: 

While the number of COVID-19-positive cases in India is not high, there are a few people who have been infected by this deadly virus. Among the few who have tested positive, Jayam Ravi from the South Indian film Industry is the latest to have tested positive for COVID-19. Other prominent celebrities who were affected by the notorious coronavirus in 2022 include National Award-winning actress Keerthy Suresh, Arun Vijay, Vishnu Vishal, Mahesh Babu, Vadivelu, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Sarath Kumar, Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, Thaman, Chiyaan Vikram,  Mammootty, Dulquer Salman.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jayam Ravi is basking in the phenomenal success of his latest film Ponniyin Selvan 1. But other than that he has a  few other films in his kitty including 'Agilan' which is awaiting release and 'Ponniyin Selvan 2' which is in its post-production phase. He is also filming for two other movies - 'Iraivan' and an untitled film directed by M. Rajesh of Boss Engira Bhaskaran fame.
