Jayalalithaa prays at Tirumala

Yesteryear Tamil heroine and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa visited ‘Dhwaja Sthambam' in Sri Venkateswara temple at Tirumala and offered prayers on Monday.

Accompanied by her close associate Sasikala, she reached Tirupati in a special helicopter and directly motored up to the sacred town. This is her second visit to the district in a span of one week. During her visit last week, she visited Srikalahasteeswara temple.

On her arrival at the main entrance of the temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Chairman D.K. Adikesavulu accorded her a warm reception and facilitated darshan of the Lord. After having darshan, Jayalalithaa also made offering in the hundi. Later, the temple priests rendered ‘Vedasirvachanam' on her at the ‘Ranganayakula mandapam' inside the temple.

Jayalalithaa later visited the TTD's Pedda Jeeyar Mutt and took the blessings of Sri Thiruvengada Ramanuja Sadagopal Jeeyar before leaving for Tirupati from where she flew back to Chennai.
