The entire world is abuzz with the news of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, with netizens on social networking forums contemplating the changes that could be implemented on the micro-blogging platform in the days ahead. Following the accession of Twitter, English actress Jameela Jamil, known best for starring in the fantasy comedy series The Good Place, announced on Monday that she is quitting the social platform. Set to be making her Marvel debut with the upcoming She-Hulk series, Jamil posted two tweets declaring that they are her last statements on Twitter.

Jamil, who has been an active Twitter user, previously voiced her opinions on several occasions by using the platform to call out trolls and also address numerous celebrities on important issues. Responding to Musk's Twitter acquisition, she tweeted, "One good thing about Elon buying twitter is that I will *FINALLY* leave and stop being a complete menace to society on here. So it’s a win-win for you all really." Jamil, in her second tweet, shared cute photos of herself with her pet dog Barold and wrote, "Ah he got twitter. I would like this to be my what lies here as my last tweet. Just really *any* excuse to show pics of Barold. I fear this free speech bid is going to help this hell platform reach its final form of totally lawless hate, bigotry, and misogyny. Best of luck."

Elon Musk's Twitter acquisition was made at $54.20 per share, with the Tesla, Inc CEO sharing a tweet saying, "I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means." He also spoke about making the social platform better and tweeted, "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated." Musk added, "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots and authenticating all humans." He concluded, "Twitter has tremendous potential - I look forward to working with the company and the community of users to unlock it."
