Suriya's latest film Jai Bhim released on Amazon Prime Video on November 2 has been receiving praise from people of all walks of life, including taking the first position in IMDb's list of top films recently. Directed by Tha. Se. Gnanavel and produced by Suriya and Jyotika under the 2D Entertainment banner, the courtroom drama's story revolved around a legal battle in 1993 that was led by Rtd. Justice Chandru, who fought for the justice of an Irular tribe woman and the people from the oppressed castes who were framed for crimes they did not commit. Jai Bhim saw Suriya portray Chandru, who was an advocate at the time, with Malayalam actress and Sivappu Manjal Pachai fame Lijomol Jose playing a character named Sengani based on Parvathi ammal, whose life story served as the inspiration for the film.

As compliments continue to pour in for Jai Bhim, Suriya released a statement on Sunday expressing his gratitude to K. Balakrishnan, State Secretary of CPI(M) Tamil Nadu, for his appreciation towards the film. Suriya stated, "The communist party has stood for the poor and the downtrodden during their struggles and their dedication towards their philosophy has moved me. We have attempted to bring to light with our film the gargantuan efforts of the communist movement during the legal battle. Rtd. Justice Chandru and honest senior police officer Perumalsamy's contributions too have been highlighted in the film. Furthermore, we have decided to provide assistance in some form to the late Rajakannu's wife Parvathy ammal. We have decided to deposit Rs 10 lakhs in the name of Parvathy ammal that will prove beneficial in her old age and also be useful for her kith and kin in the future."

Suriya's statement further read, "We are also thinking about providing more education opportunities to students from the tribal communities. Education is the only path for the growth of the future generations. And, that is the main reason we stepped forward to help students from the Irular tribal community. I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the contributions of your party to the people who need it the most." Below is Suriya's statement in full:
