Makers of Popular horror-comedy film of 2016 Jackson Durai announced a sequel with the same director PV Dharanidaran. The announcement poster of Jackson Durai: The Second Chapter was released in Hindi and Telugu too as the film is set to be released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Kanada and Malayalam. The father-son duo of Sathyaraj and Sibiraj are back for the film. The announcement posters were captioned This Time Much Bigger and Stronger.
The sequel is set to have music composed by Siddharth Vipin, who delivered from fresh beats in the first installment of the film, cinematography by Kalyan Venkatraman, Safiq Mohammed Ali as editor. The posters shows film could be set around the same elements of the first sequence as a British flag, tankers and men in cowboy hats can be seen in the backdrop of the poster. Filming of the project is set to commence soon with Samyuktha being casted to play the Female lead of the film.

The first installment of the film became famous because though horror-comedy is not a new genre to the Tamil industry, the film had a different flavour than the generic ones. The plot of the movie revolves around Sub-Inspector Sathya played by Sibiraj who is stationed in Aynpuram takes up the mission of proving the villages that ghosts does not exist in a large british-time bungalow, countering the belief of the people. He then finds the ghost called Jackson Durai who was killed by the Britishers roams around the palace. Will Sathya fulfill the wishes of Jackson to send him away and prove the villagers wrong? forms the rest of the story. The movie that also had Karunakaran and Motta Rajendran in supporting roles was dubbed in Telugu and Hindu after success in Tamil. The director of the film PV Dharanidharan already Ranger in the pipeline that’s yet to be released in the pipeline, It has Sibiraj and Ramya Nabeesan in lead roles.
