A film that was announced last year, Maari 2, the news of a sequel to the smash 2015 hit, Maari, left many excited instantly.
And, the first sign of the film kicking off this year was made known to us all on New Year’s eve when the film’s director Balaji Mohan took to his Twitter page to unveil the logo.

Maari 2 will be produced under Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films banner and will likely be coming to screens towards the end of the year. Now, the National Award-winning actor a short while back took to his Twitter page to announce that filming kicks off from today.

As for the cast, actor Sai Pallavi has been cast the female lead in this sequel.
Varalaxmi Sarathkumar too plays an important role in the film.
The film’s cast also includes Pandigai actor Krishna Kulasekaran as part of the supporting cast.
In addition, Malayalam star Tovino Thomas is said to be playing the antagonist.
Composer Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring for a Dhanush film after nearly a decade.
It must be noted that veteran composer ‘Isaignani’ Ilaiyaraaja sang a song last week for Maari 2.
With so much going on already for Maari 2, we can no doubt expect a cracker of a sequel from the team.
