Ilaiyaraaja is a veteran Music composer who is called by his fans 'Isaignani' for his genius in music compositions. The composer is celebrating his 80th birthday today. He has composed music for over 1000 films in various Indian languages but has worked primarily in the Tamil film industry. He has received many awards including Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan and has also won the National Film Awards nearly five times. Recently, he composed music for the anthology web series Modern Love Chennai and stunned his fans yet again with his music. Many leading celebrities in the Tamil film industry have shared their wishes with the music composer.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited the legendary music composer in-person and has shared his wishes with sweet gift. He has also penned a heartfelt-note wishing Isaignani on his birthday and shared it on social media. Stalin said "Tamil Nadu chooses 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja to make their morning great, travels smooth, for celebrations, to turn struggles to dust and to turn nights sweet". He further went on to say that not just for the film industry but also for the music world, he is a revolution. The Chief Minister further went on to say that he would like to wish Ilaiyaraaja as a fan on his birthday and ended the note by saying "you are really a King as you have conquered our hearts."

Apart from the Chief Minister, singer K.S. Chithra, shared a video message wishing the birthday of the music composer and said Ilaiyaraaja is one of the main reasons, she is here as a leading singer.

Bharathiraja one of the Veteran filmmakers and a longtime friend of the music composer penned a note in honour of his birthday saying "crossing language and national barriers, 'Isaignani' is ruling the hearts of listeners for about hakf a century now. Happy birthday to my best friend Ilaiyaraaja".
