Ulaganayagan' Kamal Hasaan is hard at work with filming his next biggie, Indian 2, under Shankar's direction, which is reportedly being planned for a grand Diwali release this year. The iconic actor is also producing a number of ventures under his Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) banner and one among them will see Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi starring in the lead roles. Tentatively titled RKFI 51 / SK 21, the upcoming film announced in early 2022 with Rajkumar Periasamy of Rangoon fame announced to be the director has now made a big addition in the form of leading costume designer Amritha Ram coming on board the illustrious venture.
On Friday, March 10, Amritha Ram revealed on social media that she has joined Raaj Kamal Films International's 51st production venture as the costume designer/stylist and is her next big film after the ongoing Indian 2. Sharing a poster of RKFI 51 / SK 21 on Instagram, she wrote in her caption, "Super excited to be on board #rkfi51 #thankful", and tagged the names associated with the film. Amritha Ram has frequently collaborated with Kamal Haasan and also served as Kamal Haasan's costume designer while he hosted Bigg Boss Tamil. Below is Amritha Ram's Instagram post:
Currently in pre-production stages, RKFI 51 / SK 21 is touted to be a period film based on the announcement poster unveiled last year and will be produced in association with Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI). The untitled film also marks SPFI's foraying into Tamil cinema and is expected to roll into production this year once Sivakarthikeyan wraps up filming his Maaveeran under Mandela fame Madonne Ashwin's direction. The actor will also be teaming up with blockbuster director Venkat Prabhu and details surrounding the project are yet to be revealed. Kamal Haasan, on the other hand, announced his next venture as producer along with Mahendran, RKFI 56 / STR 48, which will see Silambarasan TR in the lead role under Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame Desingh Periyasamy's direction. Apart from Indian 2, Kamal Haasan will be joining hands with Mani Ratnam once again after 35 years for KH 234, which will be produced jointly by RKFI, Red Giant Movies, and Madras Talkies banners. The iconic actor has also announced a collaboration with Pa. Ranjith for a film, while there have been talks about teaming up with National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran, director H. Vinoth, and Mahesh Narayanan of Malik fame for separate projects.
