Due to the recent surge in the Covid 19 and Omicron cases in the country, Ajith Kumars much-awaited action drama, Valimai, has been postponed and the announcement about the postponement was made yesterday. This news came as a big disappointment for the fans and film buffs, but, looking at the larger picture, it is time for all of us to stay safe and protected following the Government guidelines as the situation is getting serious with every passing day. Looking at this scenario, one can say that Valimai is one of the few films that has fallen prey to the Covid-19 virus in all of its three waves.

After a few days of shoot, the Covid-19 pandemic came into the picture in March 2020 and the shoot was put on hold for a few months. After a hiatus, the shoot resumed and progressed for a few weeks at Hyderabad. Fast forward to May 1, 2022, the first look poster of the film was supposed to release on the day marking Ajith's birthday. However, the plans were scrapped because the Covid 19 cases in the country were on a rise and that was also the situation when the second wave was at its peak. Due to the same, the foreign schedule, planned in Europe, was also indefinitely postponed and the team had to go through a patient wait.

Once the cases came down, the team flew to foreign locales and shot some high octane bike stunt sequences. The film was announced to release in 2021 and it was anticipated that the movie will be out for Diwali, but the plan was changed due to reasons unknown. Following that, the makers confirmed that the film will hit the screens on January 13, 2022 for the festive occasion of Pongal and the fans were super excited for the same. Unfortunately, the third wave of Covid-19 has entered the scene, thereby postponing the film. We will have to wait for a few more months to know the new release plans of the film.

Valimai has crossed all the three waves of Covid-19 and whenever there was an important phase for the team, the Covid-19 ruined their plans. However, every time there was a setback, the Valimai team bounced back stronger defeating all the odds and one can confidently say that Valimai will be the saviour of the theatre business and cinema after the third wave. Get ready to witness Valimai very soon in theatres.
