Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan's maternal grandmother, Padma Rani Omprakash, passed away in Mumbai on June 16, Thursday. She was 91. According to reports, Padma suffered from age and health issues and was bedridden. She had been staying with the Roshan family for the last two years and was the wife of late filmmaker J Om Prakash, and were the parents of Hrithik's mother Pinky Roshan. Pinky, who took to Instagram and shared photos remembering her late mother and father, wrote in the caption, "Both are together in harmony and peace🙏my mother, my father🙏love you both forever 🙏."

Hrithik's mother Pinky also shared another picture of her mother Padma Rani Omprakash informing fans about her passing away. She wrote, "My mother Padma rani Omprakash left us for her onward journey to reunite with daddy 🙏🙏love peace gratitude 🙏🙏." J Om Prakash, who was a stalwart in Hindi cinema, passed away on August 7, 2019, at the age of 93. He made several memorable films during the course of his highly-successful career after he debuted with Rajesh Khanna’s Aap Ki Kasam in 1974. He is also known for films like  Apnapan (1977), Aasha (1980), Apna Bana Lo (1982), Arpan (1983), and Aadmi Khilona Hai (1993). J Om Prakash also tasted success as a producer and bankrolled box office hits like Aas Ka Panchhi (1961), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1964), Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966), Aankhon Aankhon Mein and Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969).

On the work front, Hrithik Roshan will be seen next in Vikram Vedha, an official remake of the 2017 Tamil film starring Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. Scheduled to open in cinemas on September 30, the upcoming neo-noir action thriller film will see him sharing screen space with Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte under Pushkar-Gayatri’s direction, who earlier helmed the Tamil original. Hrithik will also be teaming up with director Siddharth Anand for the third time with Fighter, which has him cast alongside Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor and is planned for a release on September 28, 2023.
