Earlier today (November 22), Kamal Haasan informed everyone that he has tested positive for the Covid-19 virus and requested the public to keep in mind that the pandemic is not over yet. Kamal Haasan also added that he isolated himself at a hospital in Chennai. Kamal Haasan shared the news through a tweet that read, "அமெரிக்கப் பயணம் முடிந்து திரும்பிய பின் லேசான இருமல் இருந்தது. பரிசோதனை செய்ததில் கோவிட் தொற்று உறுதியானது. மருத்துவமனையில் தனிமைப்படுத்திக் கொண்டுள்ளேன். இன்னமும் நோய்ப்பரவல் நீங்கவில்லையென்பதை உணர்ந்து அனைவரும் பாதுகாப்பாக இருங்கள்".

Ever since Kamal Haasan shared this news, the people of Tamil Nadu have been praying for his speedy recovery, wishing to see him back in action very soon. Having said that, an official statement on the current health condition of Kamal Haasan has been issued by Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, the hospital where Kamal Haasan has been admitted. The official medical bulletin from SRMC reads, "Sri Kamal Haasan is admitted in SRMC for the complaints of lower respiratory tract infection and fever. He was tested COVID positive. He is on medical management and his condition is stable".

This statement from the hospital has come as a relief for the fans. As Kamal Haasan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is isolated at the hospital, it looks like the upcoming weekend episode of Bigg Boss Tamil will have a few changes/alterations. Further details regarding the same are awaited. On the acting front, Kamal Haasan's next film will be Vikram which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, the film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi play the other leads in this action drama which is scheduled to release in theatres in April 2022.
