It is a surprise to see this bubbly and promising actor turning 30, when it feels like it's just yesterday that she entered the film industry. She made the entire industry divert its attention towards her with her subtle and strong acting talent. The beautiful Nayanthara turns 30 today. Galatta.com is happy to pick 7 of her best roles in her Kollywood movies.

1. Selvi (Ayya): This was her debut in Tamil, where she plays the love interest of Sarath Kumar. A school girl who falls in love with the MLA of the town Ayyadurai (Sarath Kumar) and how she marries him in spite of being a minor and from a different caste, forms the plot of the story. She is the center of the story and the innocence, charm and vigor needed for a village school girl has been excellently portrayed by Nayantara.

2. Swapna (Vallavan): A professor who falls in love with a person who is younger to her. While being averse to the idea, Nayantara’s performance when she gets to know the truth is so mature and apt for the role and it was a highlight of the movie. Nayantara pulled off the role effotlessly.

3. Sasha (Billa): First action oriented role from the girl next door! She looked fit and sizzled in the bikini shot. She took boldness to the next level when she sported a bikini with confidence at a time when other heroines were still not very comfortable sporting one.

4. Keerthi (Yaaradi Nee Mohini): She’s working and independent yet when it comes to her family, she is a normal girl. The perfect blend of emotions that is completely relatable to all has been played by Nayantara quite naturally and we can find that the innocence, beauty and grace is nicely contrasted with the fierce, rude taskmaster that she is at her work place

5. Regina (Raja Rani): The so called comeback movie of Nayantara released in 2013 after she took a break. Nayantara looked gorgeous. After a 3 year break, Nayantara was stunning to watch in a silky sweet performance, moving gracefully from frame to frame. As a person who is moody because of a sad past, she essays the role near to perfection.

6. Anaamika (Nee Enge En Anbe): A remake of the successful blockbuster Kahaani, the role played by Vidya Balan in the original is incomparable. Yet, our south queen has given a fresh perspective with an outstanding performance that brings a depth and gives life to the character of a desperate woman in search of her husband. She carries the film on her shoulders which was the saving grace of the film which did not get a response that was expected in the box office.

7. Apsara (Maya): A horror flick that owes its success to Nayantara’s performance! Nayantara played the role of a mother of a 2 year old who has walked out of her marriage and does ad films to make ends meet. Nayan has done a brilliant job and her subtle emotions worked well.

The list goes on and on...Surviving in the industry successfully for more than ten years with critical acclaim and awards, Nayanthara surely has some magic and is an amazing human being. We wish her a very happy birthday, many more amazing roles and unending happiness!
