Music composer G.V. Prakash Kumar took to his official Instagram account to reveal that the first single from his upcoming film Kalvan will be released on March 4th. He also shared that Kalvan will mark his next album release after the hit album of Dhanush's movie Vaathi. He shared a picture from the movie in which he is sitting in Straw bales with the female lead of the movie Ivana and wrote, "#kalvan song release on 4th … my next album after vaathi … super excited about the album …"

PV Shankar, a renowned cinematographer known for his work in movies like Mundaasupatti, Raatchasan, and Maragadha Naanayam, is all set to make his directorial debut with the movie Kalvan. Aside from GV Prakash, who is both the composer and the lead actor in the film, the cast also includes Love Today fame Ivana, Bharathiraja, Vinoth Munna, Dheena, and others. The film is being produced by G. Dilli Babu under the banner of Axess Film factory. He has previously produced successful movies such as Raatchasan, Maragadha Naanayam, Oh My Kadavule, and Bachelor. The screenplay of Kalvan was co-written by Ramesh Aiyappan and PV Shankar, while Rajesh Kanna joined the team to write the dialogues. The film's editing was done by Raymond Derrick Crasta.
At present, G.V. Prakash Kumar is busy composing music for several highly anticipated films. He is composing the music for Vaadivaasal, which stars Suriya and is directed by Vetrimaran. He is also working on the music for Captain Miller, a movie directed by Arun Matheswaran and starring Dhanush.
