KE Gnanavelraja has bankrolled multiple projects that were important in the history of Tamil cinema under the banner Studio Green. The production house has produced multiple successful projects starring leading actors as heros. They have also introduced some new talent to the industry and have distributed many projects since their first project Sillunu Oru Kaadhal starring Surya. The production house has three major projects in the pipeline. Pathu Thala is set to be released on March 30. The next film is in line in Thangalaan with Vikram as lead directed by Pa Ranjith. This is the first association of the production house with Vikram.
The producer KE Gnanavelraja shared some exclusive information about Vikram and his hard work on the sets of Thangalaan during his interview with Galatta Media. The producer said “Vikram sir is a phenomenally hard worker, Dedication. At first Ranjith set a date to start the shooting of the film in March and on that day Vikram lost 35 kgs for the role and was ready to begin shooting. I warned Ranjith that is not like other artists he will take everything seriously and works very sincerely. He (Vikram)struggles so much. As the date was postponed for three months, he held that physique for three months which is very very hard."
KE Gnanavelraja revealed that "when he went to the spotting spot, the whole day they were shooting in water after his (actor Vikram) shot was over. Till night 7 PM, he was doing assistant director work. When I asked where sir was I did not recognise him because of the new look for the film and saw him (doing other works). After his work as an actor was over, he stayed there till the scene was done. As I went for the shoot only on the 65th day, He (Vikram) explained to me the whole event that happened (for 65 days) throughout the day, though he was wet. He has so much excitement and passion for the film. He is in a different league". The Producer also revealed that Thangalaan will be released in 3D. Check out the full interview:
