American actress Becca Tobin, known best for her role as Kitty Wilde on the hit musical comedy-drama series Glee, has welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with her husband Zach Martin through surrogacy. Taking to social media, the 36-year-old star revealed her son's name as Rutherford 'Ford' Thomas Martin, while adding that it took five years for him to arrive in the world. Expressing her gratitude to everyone for their wishes on Instagram, Tobin shared an adorable photo of her entrepreneur husband Zach carrying their newborn and wrote, "Welcome to the world, Ford." She added, "Rutherford 'Ford' Thomas Martin is here and life is already so much sweeter. It took him five years to get here, but it’s been worth every minute. Thank you to our amazing surrogate for bringing him here safely surrounded by so much love."

Congratulatory messages and wishes have been pouring in from all corners, including Tobin's celebrity friends and former Glee co-stars like Lea Michele who commented, "Love you, Ford!", while Kevin McHale wrote, "Love you all soooo much, congratulations." The Turner & Hooch actress in an earlier episode of her LadyGang podcast show spoke about the difficult journey to motherhood last year. At the time, she said, "In my earlier 30s, I was having an ultrasound and the doctor said, 'Oh, my gosh, look at all those eggs,' so I had a false sense of confidence in my ability to make a baby," adding that she and Martin consulted a fertility specialist and froze their embryos.
