With Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu's release around the corner, director Gautham Vasudev Menon was interviewed by our Editor-in-Chief of Galatta Plus and as always, the interaction offers several quality takeaways for its viewers. During the interaction, Gautham Vasudev Menon revealed an interesting tidbit about one of his commitments as an actor. Gautham revealed that he was supposed to act in Kamal Haasan's blockbuster hit Vikram, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, but could not take up the role due to his directorial commitments with Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu.

When the ace filmmaker was asked about the role he was approached to play in Vikram, he said, "I think I was supposed to do the role that Chemban Vinod finally did. I was right in the middle of this (VTK shoot) and he had asked for a certain number of days which I couldn't give. I would love to have some screen space with Kamal sir somewhere in the backdrop". This is indeed an interesting detail that we've gotten to know. It would've been exciting to see Gautham Menon alongside actors like Fahadh Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, and Kamal Haasan, but well, let us hope the collaboration happens in the future.

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is currently busy with the post production works of his next venture, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu which stars Silambarasan TR and Siddhi Idnani in the lead roles. The film has got high expectations among the fans and film buffs and it is expected to be an intense gangster action drama. VTK will be a film that will be completely different from the usual Gautham Menon films that we have been used to seeing and we already got a glimpse of it in the recently released trailer. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is slated for release in theatres on September 15 and it will have a wide release across through the banner of Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
