One of the most-awaited Tamil cinema ventures, Pathu Thala is Silambarasan TR's next big film after the blockbuster success of his Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, and expectations for the film have been huge ever since it was revealed that the actor would be playing the role a don. Billed to be an intense gangster film, the upcoming venture is in the final stages of production and is being directed by Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Obeli N. Krishna under blockbuster producer K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green banner, with music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. With Pathu Thala's shooting progressing at a brisk pace, actor Gautham Karthik, who is playing the role of an undercover cop, took to social media to share a heartfelt statement about Simbu and showered praises on him during their time working together.

Taking to social media, Gautham Karthik posted a photo of himself with STR from the Pathu Thala sets and wrote saying he hasn't met a person as sincere as the Maanaadu actor and appreciated him for his skills as a performer. He captioned the picture: "I've never met a more genuine human being in my life. Sincere about his craft! Impressively creative at work and more importantly, unafraid to show how he truly feels. Truly a pleasure working with @silambarasantrofficial annan! 😊". Silambarasan will appear as an underworld don, while Gautham Karthik is a police officer in Pathu Thala and they are playing the roles previously portrayed by Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar and Sriimurali in the 2017 film, Mufti, directed by Narthan.
