English actor Joseph Gatt, best known for playing the role of Thenn Warg in the hit fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones, was arrested last week after Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detectives said he had allegedly engaged in "online sexually explicit communication" with a minor. A probe has been launched by investigators to identify other victims. The LAPD posted a news release to their website on Tuesday stating Gatt was arrested at his residence on April 6 after he was issued a home search warrant. A call was placed to the LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) based on a tip alleging that the GoT actor had engaged in sexually explicit communication with a minor over the Internet in another state. Gatt was later arrested by authorities for an outstanding felony warrant for "contact with a minor for a sexual offense."

TMZ has reported that Gatt was released on a $5,000 bail on the same day. The actor took to social media on Wednesday to address his arrest, including the allegations leveled against him. He shared a note on Twitter writing, "I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and completely untrue allegations recently leveled against me. They are 100% categorically wrong and reckless. I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today’s press release. I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name. Thank you to all my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media."

Outside of his work on Game of Thrones, Joseph Gatt has also had starring roles in films like Thor, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Dumbo to name a notable few, and will next be appearing in the upcoming DC film, Black Adam, starring Dwayne Johnson in the titular role.
