FEFSI approaches PM

The Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) along with the All India Film Employees' Federation (AIFEF) has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for the better pay for film employees. They are also planning to hold a rally from Kanyakumari and meet the Prime Minister in person to urge him to fulfill their requests. The FEFSI officials will also meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi, General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Union Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge and Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Sonia in this regard.

Demands from FEFSI

1. Industry status for the film fraternity
2. Every film should obtain a certificate from FEFSI that all monetary dues have been settled before the release of a movie
3. Eight hours work in a day
4. Pension scheme for all television and cinema workers and higher pay
5. Salary hike
