Popular Tamil and Malayalam director Arun Vaidyanathan has tested positive for the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron. The Omicron virus has been spreading among people across the world at a rapid pace, especially in countries like England, and America. In India, 600+ cases have been registered as of today (December 28) and the Government is taking necessary steps to control the spread. Arun Vaidyanathan took to his official Facebook page to share this information with his followers and well-wishers.

Assuring that he is doing good, Arun wrote, "I have a new visitor at home and I think his name is Omicron. He has been kind and not demanding much as of now. People who stayed in touch with me thru WhatsApp, Messenger and other social media.... Relax 🙂 God bless everyone". Arun's friends and well-wishers have shared their get well soon messages on his social media post. On a light-hearted note, Arun called Covid-19 to be a masala film with no logic. Expressing his confusion about contracting the virus, Arun wrote, "I went to Khumb Mela, Did shoot for 28 days with 160 ppl on sets....went to Varanasi and Bodh Gaya....but once I came to US, I tested positive 🤐🤣 Covid is like a masala film - No logic!".

For the unversed, director Arun Vaidyanathan is known for directing the Prasanna - Sneha starrer Achchamundu! Achchamundu!, Mohanlals Peruchaazhi (Malayalam), and Action King Arjun;s Nibunan. Arun Vaidyanathan is currently making a kids friendly film titled Shot Boot 3 which has Venkat Prabhu, Sneha, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. Four child actors play the lead roles in this film which has music composed by Rajhesh Vaidhya. The film has cinematography by Sudharshan Srinivasan and editing by Sathish Suriya. The shooting of Shot Boot 3 is completed and the post-production works are currently progressing in full swing.
